Ogbomoso is one of the historical towns in Oyo State and its paramount ruler, Soun of Ogbomoso was one of the generalissimos of Alaafin army [Aare-Onakakanfo]. The palace which is a combination of old and new architectural masterpieces contains many antiquities like the ancient armoury, chains,”Ajagbon’ ,tree and ‘’Alaagba ‘’,the over three hundred years old tortoise(now late) was the star attraction in its life time roams about majestically on the palace ground.
2. Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH)
Located at Ogbomoso, Ogbomoso Local Govt, This Education/ Research Center is jointly owned by the Oyo and Osun State Govt. One of the best State university in Nigeria and named after the last Premier of WestRregion late Samuel Ladoke Akintola.
3. Late Chief Ladoke Akintola’s house
Located at Oke –Ado area, Ogbomoso North Local Government. This historical/cultural/political site is privately owned. The Late Premier of Western Region, Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola’s house include his tomb tagged ‘Aare Ona Kakanfo tomb and Libery.
4. The Ogun Oja’lu Ogbomoso
Located in front of Lobanika’s Compound, Ojagbo Junction, Ogbomoso North Local Govt. This Religious/Cultural/Historical is owned by the community. ‘The one that prevented Ogbomoso Land from war’. One male and female virgins were buried alive through incantation to stop wars from invading Ogbomoso. All weapons of the warriors were also kept with the statues. In the olden days people ues to see the inside of the statues but these days they were prevented from seeing it. A house was built to cover and protect the site.
5. Soun Ogunlola’s Site
Located at Ogbomoso North Local Govt. This Historical/Cultural site is owned by the community.
6. Ajagbon Oju Aafin
Located at Ogbomoso North Local Govt. It is owned by the community.
7. Ogbomoso Farm Settlement
Located at Ogbomoso South Local Govt. It is owned by the community
8. Oke-Eso
Located at Oriire Local Govt. It is owned by the community
9. Alagintan Marble Site
Located at Oriire Local Govt. It is owned by the community
10. Ancient Crowns
Located at Ile-Igbon, Surulere Local Govt. This site is owned by the community
11. Odo-Iregba
Located at Ile-Igbon, Surulere Local Govt. This site is owned by the community
12. Odo-Agbonda
Located at Ile-Igbon, Surulere Local Govt. This site is owned by the community
13. Antete Hill/ Shrine
Located at Ikoyi- Ile, Orire Local Govt. This Historical/ Cultural is owned by the community. There is a pot containing swarm of honeybees which used to fight for the people of ikoyi-ile by stinging enemies to death.
